What should I wear?
Dress comfortably, but no special dress is required. If you are here in the middle of your workday, you are not obliged to bring another set of clothing.
How long will the appointment take?
Plan to spend about 15 min. with preliminary intake forms & insurance, then about one hour ( 1 hr +/- 30 min) for the appointment, though the specific length varies with each patient depending on history, complexity & number of problems. Follow-up appointments are shorter, usually about 15 minutes.
What does the examination entail?
After you are brought back from the waiting room, your doctor will take a detailed history. This entails getting information about the problem you are experiencing as well as other health history information.
For the examination you will be put through series of physical tests including range of motion, posture, orthopedic and palpatory evaluation. He/she will use this information to come up with an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. This is also the time to ask any questions you may have.
The doctor may or may not order X Rays, depending upon your exam and history. We usually take the films on-site. If you already have films or MRI’s, please bring them if you can.
At that point you and the doctor can decide if chiropractic is right for you and what results to expect.
