Do You Only Perform Chiropractic Adjustments On The Spine?

Because our body was made by God to function as a whole unit, we focus on head-to-toe chiropractic care. This includes (but of course is not limited to) spinal and extremity adjustments and visceral (organ) manipulation. In addition, because muscles attach to and cause bones to move, I often perform muscular and soft tissue manipulation (myofascial release, stretching, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular reeducation techniques, etc.). Because you are what you eat, we recommend wholesome nutrition and supplementation as needed to bring your body back within equilibrium or balance.

If I've had surgery, can my back ever be adjusted by a chiropractor again?

Yes, most of the time you can get adjusted after prior surgery.  We will need as much information as possible about the surgery, such as surgery notes or medical records, post xrays, MRI/CT, etc.   Sometimes the patient is able to provide adequate information along with our examination and x-rays if records are not available, but this will be decided case by case.

Do you adjust children?

Yes.  If their spine has a misalignment, or the child is experiencing neurologic problems, we do adjust children.  Children's spines are slightly different than adults, but they are not always trouble-free as many have assumed in error.  Many adult conditions may be the result of problems of the spine which began before the adult years.  When Children complain of back pain, it is probably a legitimate complaint that should be addressed before it "goes away on its own" (before the body goes into compensation and develops permanent changes).   A child can sometimes be adjusted the same as an adult, but usually we have to make accomodations/changes to our approach to adapt to the child's size, flexibility, and demeanor.
